Sloths

Today I was learning about Sloths

I enjoyed making the goggle drawing and learnt some new things about Sloths.

I found it challenging to always find the right sites to research from.

My digital learning object shows I can make good blog posts.

Next time I would change nothing, I am very happy with my work.

Sloths have short, flat round heads and big eyes.  They have a very thick brown and a slight greenish fur coat.  They have curved claws, tiny ears, stumpy tails, long legs and a short snout.

Sloths diets are made up of:
  • Fruit
  • Tree buds, new shoots, leaves (normally from the cecropia tree which is in the rainforest)
  •  Insects, small lizards.  It can sometimes take up to a month for Sloths food to break down in their stomachs.  Sloths are Omnivores (plant and animal eaters)
Sloths are found in South America and Central America.  Most of their lives are hanging upside down in trees from the rainforest.  They love being in the branches of trees but their favourite trees are the cecropia tree.

Sloths can live up to 40 years and can keep their grip until death.

I learnt alot about Sloths
