Animals Should Not Be Kept In Zoos - Writing

Yesterday and today we did writing to practice for our speeches coming up so we did it about on how animals should not be kept in zoos and this is the reason why they shouldn't be in there.

Would a zoo be a good place for animals?

I strongly believe that animals should not be kept in zoos. It is Cruel for them because some of the babies get taken away form their Mums, taken away from their habitat, go into cages and need the zoo keepers to feed them Tourists feed them junk food and it makes the animals unhealthy when they go to the zoo some of their natural hunting goes away because the zoo keepers feed them and that means they don’t hunt anymore. When Baby elephants are taken away from their Mums, they go through depression.

Our animals need to be saved and be happy.

The Laughing Owl

For the week we have been doing a report writing about an extinct animal from New Zealand. I chose the laughing owl because it sounded very interesting to do and it was. I did the habitat, diet, threats, description, fun fact, it did take a while. Here is my writing about the laughing owl.

Habitat

Their habitat was in the forest they slept in caves or on rock ledges and maybe in tree holes and sometimes slept on tree branches. 

Diet

Their Diet is Medium sized birds, frogs, bats, lizards, tuatara, and larger insects, 

Threats

The laughing owls used to be around in 1914 they could have been around in the 1930’s as well but then they went extinct from their threats which are stoats, ferrets, weasels, and rabbits and zoo people and museums wanted them to use in their place to show everyone.

Description

They are twice the size as a Morepork they also have big brown feathers they also have a dash of yellow and have a bit of dark reddish brown on their feathers as well

Fun Fact

They make a very loud crying sound at night and sometimes at day time. If they weren't extinct they could of done some breeding in September or in October.

My Poppa's Funeral

Today we were doing our writing and mine was about my poppa's funeral.
We were learning to use a hook.
We had to use juicy verbs and different sentence starters.
I enjoyed doing this writing because I really miss my poppa but I am still happy.
I found it challenging to get my writing all done in my book because I was a bit behind.


A long four hours trapped in the car felt like a prison waiting and waiting to get to our destination. Me vomiting in the back I felt very yuck. We got to our place and waited for everyone to turn up. Walking to the cemetery to bury my poppa, some people were sad, some even crying. We said our final goodbyes to my poppa. My nana bawled with tears, streaming out of her eyes. Getting into our pyjamas we lay in bed. My Mum made popcorn, some were eating some were food fighting. After a long night with my cousins Haylen, Stormur and Asher food fighting, we slept and woke up to cleant it up. After cleaning, we ate breakfast which was bacon and eggs and then left for our way home.

Share The Care

Today I have been doing my lockdown diary, its a poem about my mum and I dedecaite this to her.  I enjoyed doing this because it talks about someone special to me and that person is my MUM.

 

My Feelings

Today I was doing my lockdown diary about feelings, I enjoyed doing this because sometimes I forget about my feelings so I got time to think about it and write it down.

Today I was doing I was doing a write whatever you want from our Lockdown diary this is mine.
I enjoyed making this because it is about my poppa who works for Kuru Contracting and it terminally sick.
Next time I would change my font and background.

A Weeks Worth

Today I was doing a piece of work for each day on Friday that is what I am planning to do.
I found it challenging to remember Wednesdays one because my brain was dizzy.

I enjoyed making this because I did quite a lot of things today.

Today I was doing our Lockdown diary and it was based on what is in my cupboard.
I found it challenging to find the images because it would not come up with the things I was going to put down.

Back at Ya

I enjoyed asking my brother to write down something he has like about being in lockdown stuck with me.  Thanks Luke, we have had some extra fun times together

Kind

I enjoyed doing this piece of writing because it's a message to my Mum about the word kind.  She is one of the kindest and BFF to me in the world,  Thanks mum your one of a kind!.

Outside

Today I was learning about what noises I hear outside
I enjoyed doing this because it made me think about noises that I hear and don't normally take notice of.
My digital learning object shows I can do another quality piece of blogging with colour, and designing my own work by putting words into the tree.

My Circuit

Tonight I was learning how to create a circuit.

I enjoyed doing this and got my brother Luke to check if I was right and he tells me "looking good Eva".

I found it challenging to connect some of the wires but I then figured out how to make the wires shorter,  I was getting it now.

Next time I would play around a bit more and  make another type of circuit using different things.

       

What I Learnt Over Lockdown

Today I was learning about what I have learnt over this Lockdown
I enjoyed writing about this as it tells you how to do a frontflip and with my instructions I can teach you to do one also.
I found it challenging to write the steps down one by one as I have not yet up till now given instructions to do one.  I am glad I have today as I have now taught someone do try one at their home.

Next time I would change the activity to something different for others to learn.

Things I See Outside On My Walk.

Today I was learning and writing down outside the things that I see when I am outside, I don't normally write them down when I'm outside so it was good to see them on paper to remind myself of all the cool things I see.
I enjoyed doing this because it reminds me of the things I see a lot and don't really observe normally
I found it challenging to remind myself to sharpen my pencil so I had to run back to sharpen it.

Next time I would change what I did see outside to new things I see outside, as there so many other things to choose from.

 

What Made Today Awesome!!

Today I was learning about What Made Today Awesome.
I enjoyed making this today because we had such a awesome day and the bonus was having it with Poppa and Nana also.
I did not find this challenging to write about because I was too busy having fun.

What Is My Fave Song

Today I have been listening and learning about what is my favorite song.
I enjoyed making this piece of work  because Beene is a great singer and I love singing along with her songs but I really enjoy this one the most.

How Did You Not Get Bored Today

Today I was learning about how did you not get bored today.
I enjoyed making this because it shows others how I don't get bored and what I do I think is very fun and a happy time when I so this.

My Self Portrait

Today I have been learning about my self portrait and telling you how my mood is.
I enjoyed making this because it involved someone very special to me and someone I love to the moon and back.  I love you Poppa.
