I found it tricky making the dragonfly because you need some of the right shapes.

Horouta Waka

On Tuesday we had a lady come to my school to tell us about a story called Horouta it is about a waka. i'll tell u some of the story that i know so one day Paoua and Kiwa who were famous sea voyagers and they live very far far away in a land called Hawaki and one day they traveled to Aotearoa on a waka called Horouta. on board with them was Paoua's sister Hinehakirianga and his daughter Hineakua. and Kiwa's son Kahutuanui was also on board with them. Horouta was a very fast waka to travel on. and on the waka it carried a root vegetable that is called Kumara and it was Hinekakrianga's job to look after it. the Horouta waka sailed from Hawaiki to Aotearoa and finally landed at Ohiwa and then they crashed into a sandbar the hull and a bow piece broke the waka so that would mean the waka couldn't sail. so paoua and kiwa had a chat about the waka and how they would fix it and after many decisions they decided that Kiwa would take care of the waka and paoua would go overland for search for suitable timbers so they could fix the waka Kiwa made some repairs to the waka then it could sail again Horouta carried on to its course line along the shorelineone day Kiwa discovered a beautiful bay that had birds animals and all sorts when Kiwa was waiting for paoua to arrive then paoua named it Turanganui a kiwa paoua came across a stream and there was a mighty tree with stuff he was looking for the Timber to fix the waka he used the river to float it down the shoreline then pauoa finally arrived to Turanganui a kiwa it was celebrated by Hineakua his daughter these people could be out here today.

Hi, my name is Eva. I go to St Mary’s Catholic school. I am a year 6. I live in Gisborne with my Mum and Dad and my older Brother. I have a pet Dog.

 I'm good at gymnastics and good at swimming. My goal is to get better at writing. and moving up in swimming and  gymnastics I enjoy going to school to see all my friends.

I am looking forward to go to camp Rotorua this year my achievement is to have a amazing last year at St Mary's family inspires me

Summer Holidays

We are learning to describe in our writing when we write our story or poem like use adjectives or specific nouns or juicy verbs and I found it challenging to use my adjectives 


Remember
driving to Baywave to see the big waves for my birthday in Tauranga.
I slid down the zooming fast slide.

Remember
Tauranga was boiling hot mostly all week.
We saw Mr Whippy at Memorial Park
and swam in the fountain and got all soaked
then when you hopped out your feet would get all dirty from the grass
and then the buzzing bees were buzzing around us.
We got home and got into the kids room and was as cold as an ice cube which was really nice because it was so hot outside.
That was summer.

Crack! Crack! the three wise brothers Alex Mack and Jack were walking down a dead and spooky trail that nobody used ever.  It was almost midnight  the three brothers appeared to find this River it was too treacherous to path or swim through. They used their powerful wands to build a bridge suddenly death appeared when the oldest brother was about to pass the bridge‘’uh oh said Mack the middle brother what is going on’’. and the dead tree turned into death . Death said I will give you one wish the oldest brother wanted a teleportation cloak but death tricked him and always knew where he was going to teleport when the brother teleported away. But death would find him anyways. The second brother wanted to go back in time but death also tricked the second brother and knew what century he would go to. The third brother was smarter than his other brothers he wanted an invisibility cloak death did not want to give it to him but he had to. He got his invisibility cloak then all the brothers went walking home. They all fell asleep when they got home the third brother did not feel safe so he put his invisibility cloak on him. When it was the next morning Alex the oldest brother went outside to brag about himself he was in the most busy bit of town and showed everyone his teleportation cloak. He said I am the best in town and the whole intire world. He teleported everywhere shops and to his home then one night the most popular guy in town went and killed the oldest brother when death was supposed to do it so he killed the popular guy got killed by death as well because death really wanted to kill him death went to go and find the second brother on death’s tracking device that he put on him he was in 1988 so death went there and saw him in the park death was about to kill him but he went to 1987 so deathwent there the second brother mack saw death and quickly teleported 1986 but death was there first but quickly mack teleported he went to his house and killed himself that was death’s plan all along. The third brother death could not find because of the invisibility cloak he searched for years and years and years until when the third brother jack gave up when he was about 70 and gave his invisibility cloak to his son he said to his before he left I Love you so much and always have this over you and gave his son a kiss on the cheek and death took jack an flew away with him.
